ThingWorx fue la empresa que cre\u00f3 la categor\u00eda de plataforma de aplicaciones para IoT industrial y, posiblemente, la startup m\u00e1s exitosa en el sector del IIoT, tras ser adquirida por PTC a principios de 2014. La adquisici\u00f3n de ThingWorx fue la primera adquisici\u00f3n sin dificultades en el sector y condujo directamente a la ola de adquisiciones que han transformado el panorama del IIoT.<\/p>\r\n<p>Antes de fundar Augmentir, investigu\u00e9 bastante en profundidad la comercializaci\u00f3n de Enterprise AR y descubr\u00ed que me recordaba al espacio inicial de IIoT, fragmentado con muchas empresas que ocupaban nichos:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Creadores de soluciones personalizadas en torno a las gafas inteligentes<\/li>\r\n<li>Constructores de soluciones verticales<\/li>\r\n<li>Proveedores de vidrio inteligente<\/li>\r\n<li>Proveedores de tecnolog\u00eda<\/li>\r\n<li>Y m\u00e1s<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/documents\/3874883\">de Gartner<\/a> El reciente lanzamiento del &quot;Cuadrante M\u00e1gico&quot; del IIoT fue a la vez alentador y decepcionante. Personalmente, fue alentador ver que ThingWorx, bajo el liderazgo de Jim Heppelmann, CEO de PTC, ocupa la posici\u00f3n de &quot;M\u00e1s M\u00e1gico&quot; en el \u00e1mbito del IIoT. Sin embargo, fue decepcionante ver que, despu\u00e9s de diez a\u00f1os, el IIoT a\u00fan no ha superado el abismo, como lo demuestra el hecho de que ning\u00fan proveedor se encuentre en el Cuadrante M\u00e1gico.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 el IIoT, un espacio con tantas historias convincentes de retorno de la inversi\u00f3n (ROI), sigue estancado entre los primeros usuarios y la adopci\u00f3n generalizada? Mi punto de vista al respecto es que, si bien las soluciones del IIoT pueden ser extremadamente valiosas y transformadoras, deben ser f\u00e1ciles de adquirir para lograr una adopci\u00f3n generalizada. El IIoT es todo menos f\u00e1cil de adquirir: esto comienza con la alta fricci\u00f3n, el proceso de ventas empresarial tradicional, los largos pilotos, los costosos precios basados en el valor, los ciclos de implementaci\u00f3n largos y arriesgados, y la dependencia de un proveedor y los altos costos de cambio. Esto dificulta incluso la adopci\u00f3n completa de las grandes empresas, y dada esta din\u00e1mica, es f\u00e1cil entender c\u00f3mo las pymes se han visto pr\u00e1cticamente excluidas de la oportunidad del IIoT.<\/p>\r\n<p>Desafortunadamente, en la RA empresarial veo la misma din\u00e1mica. Las ventas con alta fricci\u00f3n y las pruebas de concepto (POC), combinadas con largos ciclos de implementaci\u00f3n y precios elevados, mantendr\u00e1n a la RA empresarial estancada en la fase de adopci\u00f3n temprana. Las ventas de gafas inteligentes para empresas ya son muy decepcionantes, lo que indica que el mercado se est\u00e1 desarrollando mucho m\u00e1s lentamente de lo que los analistas hab\u00edan proyectado.
